EL7Z UP (pronounced as "else up") is a seven-member project girl group under Apple Monster and DG Entertaiment. They were formed through the Mnet survival show Queendom Puzzle. They made their official debut on September 13, 2023 with the mini album 7+Up.
Name Meaning[]
The name "EL7Z UP" is an example of the word "puzzle"; the name represents the "top 7 members" puzzled out the "Queendom Puzzle" viewers.

Pre-Debut: Queendom Puzzle[]
On April 10, 2023, Mnet announced that they would be airing "Queendom Puzzle", a spin-off of the reality show "Queendom", where already-debuted idols would compete for a spot in the project group. The competition trailer was released later that same day, showing that there would be 28 idols the competition, seven of whom would make it to the final lineup. The first episode of Queendom Puzzle aired on June 13, 2023.
On the seventh episode of Queendom Puzzle, which aired on July 25, the final group name was announced as EL7Z U+P. However, due to negative reactons from the public, the name was later changed to EL7Z UP.
On August 15 in the finale episode, the seven final members of EL7Z UP were revealed: Kei (Lovelyz), Yeeun (CLC), Yeoreum (WJSN), Yeonhee (Rocket Punch), Nana (WOOAH), Hwiseo (H1-KEY), and Yuki (PURPLE KISS). The groups social media accounts were officially opened later that same day.
2023: Debut with 7+UP[]
On August 16, 2023, Mnet announced that EL7Z UP would be debuting sometime in September. On September 1, the group posted a video on their social media that they would be debuting on September 14 with their first mini album "7+UP".
On September 8, the group fandom name was revealed to be EL7Z U.
